Agentic AI, in plain language
Instead of a single reply, an agentic system breaks a goal into steps, chooses tools — search, spreadsheets, code editors — checks intermediate results and continues until done or until a human must decide.

On 6 October 2026, techcadd conducted an in-person workshop on Agentic Artificial Intelligence at the Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) Regional Campus in Gurdaspur, building student awareness of Agentic AI and its relevance to technology careers.
The session covered AI systems that plan tasks, use tools, coordinate multi-step workflows and pursue goals with varying human supervision — and the fundamentals underneath: AI basics, logical reasoning, programming and responsible adoption.
Instead of a single reply, an agentic system breaks a goal into steps, chooses tools — search, spreadsheets, code editors — checks intermediate results and continues until done or until a human must decide.
Tools change quickly; foundations carry over. A student who understands variables, functions, basic statistics and error messages can pick up a new AI tool in days.
Systems that act for a user can expose data or take hard-to-undo actions. Include a privacy and risk section in every project: what data is used, who an error could harm and where a human reviews the output.
“Working with AI agents rewards the same foundations good engineers have always needed.”
